PC Magazine: iPod touch Update a Bargain at $20

The iPod touch update ’08 is a bargain for US$20 and turns the best music and video player in the U.S. into an even better handheld computer, according to Sascha Segan at PC Magazine in Wednesday.
"What’s most worth paying for are the new Mail, Maps, and home screen features. Those three upgrades will change the way you’ll look at your iPod Touch," Mr. Segan wrote.
Briefly, Mr Sean recapped all the new features included in the update, and provided a compelling argument for spending $20. [The charge for the update is apparently required by U.S. Law since Apple doesn’t conduct subscription accounting for the iPod touch as it does with the iPhone and Apple TV.]
"If this update hadn’t delivered real, new, major abilities to the iPod Touch, we’d be whining over the $20 fee. But the e-mail app alone makes it worth the cost," Mr. Segan concluded.
