PodShowPDN Offers Tools For Creating, Managing Podcasts

PodShow, Inc., which was co-founded by former MTV VJ and podcasting pioneer Adam Curry, on Tuesday announced a joint venture with Limelight Networks Inc. to launch PodShowPDN (Podcast Delivery Network). The new service offers scalability for managing, delivering and tracking thousands of podcasts, millions of episodes and hundreds-of-millions of downloads.

PodShowPDN also features tools for creating, publishing and uploading content. Mr. Curry said in a press release: "Prior to the PDN, talented producers were creating the world's freshest content only to have it destroyed in delivery by networks pieced together with the digital equivalent of duct tape and bailing wire."

Ron Bloom, CEO and co-founder of PodShow Inc., added: "In order to move podcasting to the next level, we had to do three things: enable the highest level of production; guarantee delivery; and provide an entirely new class of reporting. PodShowPDN solves these issues for everyone."

PodShowPDN has already been in use delivering the PodShow Web site's line-up of shows, and during the first quarter of 2006, the company will open the service to all amateur and professional podcasters, both audio and video.
