Readers Report iPod Shuffle Pre-Orders Arriving
Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 at 2:00 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
iPodObserver.com readers have begun reporting that their iPod shuffle pre-orders have begun arriving. Apple announced Tuesday that its newest and coolest shuffle would be in stores beginning on Friday, November 3rd, but at least some pre-orders have already shipped.
Readers have noted the shuffle ships with the "old-style" Apple earphones, as opposed to the new ones that Apple introduced with the current full-sized iPod line up on September 12th, 2006. Note that the Apple Web site shows the shuffle with the old-style headphones, and we mention this merely for those unsure of what the device would eventually ship with.
One reader also reported that it was necessary to update the firmware through iTunes and manually restart the device before iTunes could properly load music onto the device. This bears mentioning because the firmware update message appearing when the update completed suggested that the shuffle was restarting itself, but this wasn't the case. Allow us to stress, however, that this is one report from one reader on the issue.

but one reader found it necessary to manually restart his shuffle before it would work properly.

A blurry-cell phone image submitted to show the shuffle had arrived.
