SAP Will Integrate iPhone into New CRM Software

SAP said on Tuesday that its new sales force automation software to be rolled out this month will be compatible with the Apple iPhone, according to Reuters.
"The iPhone has become such a popular thing," said Bob Stutz, a SAP senior vice president. "Everybody wants the ease of use of the iPhone." Mr. Stutz is responsible for SAP’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
In its first generation, SAP’s iPhone software will load business contacts, sales prospects, and account data with a Web-based interface.
The move is unusual for SAP which typically introduces software first for business oriented phones like the Blackberry. However, Mr. Stutz said that SAP will introduce the iPhone software first this time at the request of its own salespeople. They said they prefer the iPhone to other smartphones.
