SNL/Bravo Coming to iTunes
Wednesday, December 7th, 2005 at 2:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
A promotional video on Apple's Web site highlights the NBC Universal programming that was recently added to the iTunes Music Store (iTMS), and also announces that programming from Bravo and Saturday Night Live is coming soon. There is no word yet on when to expect the additional content to show up.
The additional programming NBC introduced at the iTMS only two days ago on December 6 is already proving to be a hit. Currently, NBC Universal shows hold nine of the top 20 downloads, with The Office's "Christmas Party" coming in at number three. Lost's "What Kate Did" and "Coming Home" from Desperate Housewives hold the number one and two positions.
Overall, NBC has nine of the top 20 spots with episodes of The Office, Surface, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and the Sci-Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica. The Sci-Fi Channel is part of NBC Universal. ABC has the other 11 spots with nine episodes of Lost, and two episodes of Desperate Housewives.
Apple's selection of television programs should keep growing. In addition to the upcoming Bravo and SNL shows, ESPN is reportedly negotiating with Apple. Analysts also expect to see content from other networks including CBS and Fox in the future.
