Special Edition iPod shuffle Appears at Target Stores

A special edition pink iPod shuffle supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation has made its way into the wild. You won’t be able to go just anywhere to get one, however, because they are available only at Target stores.

Target’s special edition pink iPod shuffle.

The special edition shuffle for breast cancer research is likely available in Target stores around the United States. Thanks to the sharp eye of TMO reader Alan Acevedo, we know that they are available at least in Target’s Santa Maria, California location.

The pink iPod shuffle includes a US$15 gift card to the iTunes Store. Despite the addition of the gift card, the pink shuffle is still priced at US$79.

Prior to the release of the third generation iPod shuffle with a new color scheme, Apple offered its smallest music player in a range of colors that included pink. Presumably, the special edition pink model is one of those second generation models.

This isn’t the first special interest-focused iPod Apple has made. The company also offers a (Product) RED version of the iPod shuffle and nano to support the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. The red iPods, however, are available through Apple’s own stores.
