T-Mobile Germany to Offer 1 Euro iPhone
Sunday, June 15th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Apples iPhone 3G looks to be very affordable in Germany thanks to T-Mobiles plan to offer the new model for only €1. The subsidized price will be available for the 8GB iPhone when customers sign up for the €69 a month service plan, according to Reuters.
Potential iPhone buyers wont be limited to the €69 a month plan to get a good deal on their handheld. T-Mobile will offer the combination iPod and smartphone on a sliding price scale that ramps up to €169.95 depending on which contract a user selects.
The company is offering deals to customers that want the 16GB iPhone 3G, too. Pricing for the higher capacity model will start at €19.95 with an €89 a month plan, and tops out at €249.95 with a €29 a month plan.
Apple dropped its revenue sharing requirement with cell carriers with the introduction of the iPhone 3G and agreed to let its partners sell the handheld at subsidized prices. iPhone 3G is regularly priced at US$199 for the 8GB model, and $299 for the 16GB model.
Apples iPhone 3G will go on sale in 22 countries on July 11.
