TVPredictions: HD Disc War Will End in 2008

Recently, some in the industry have suggested that the Blu-ray vs. HD DVD war is a stalemate and will continue on for years. However, Phillip Swann at TVPredictions on Wednesday claimed that the war will end in 2008 with the down selection to one format. However, which format that will be is still up in the air.
Mr. Swann said that he’d put his prediction record up against anyone and pointed out that he was the first to say that Voom’s satellite service would fail, that the Apple TV would bust, and that interactive TV would never see a mass audience.
In his video prediction, Mr. Swann said that the HD disc war will end in 2008 and that the competing camps would agree on a single format. At one time, Mr. Swann believed that would be Blu-ray, however, now he’s not so sure.
