TechRestore Announces Lifetime iPod Battery Replacement Service

Apple product repair service TechRestore Inc. announced Monday a lifetime battery replacement service on all Apple iPod digital media devices.

The TechRestore iPod Battery Freedom service costs US$99.99. All full-sized iPod models are eligible for the service, including the original 1st generation iPod, 2nd generation, 3rd generation, 4th generation, iPod photo and iPod mini series. The service includes installation of a replacement high capacity iPod battery with at least 30% more capacity than the original iPod battery and return overnight shipping for the first battery replacement. The users old iPod battery is then recycled in conjunction with the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation.

The company said on average, a Lithium-Ion iPod battery has a typical life span of 300-500 charges and discharges, causing most users to begin seeing lower battery performance within 18-24 months.
