TheStreet.com: Apple TV 2.0 Nails It
Thursday, February 21st, 2008 at 3:00 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
Apple has "nailed it" with the recent update to Apple TV, according to a review at the financial site TheStreet.com. The reviewer, Gary Krakow, didnt like the original Apple TV, largely due to the inferior (iPod-oriented) resolution that was available for video downloads from iTunes at the time. The higher resolutions available from iTunes and supported on the Apple TV has changed that.
Another source of praise in the review was how easy it is to rent movies via iTunes. Mr. Krakow praised the quality of the HD rentals, and that downloads "amazingly" start playing after 45 seconds. "All in all," he said, "video rental has never been this quick and easy."
The review shouldnt be mistaken for a comprehensive or in-depth look at the new Apple TV, but it is yet another positive review of the device coming from a mainstream source. From Mr. Krakows view, the Apple TV is so good that it should allow Apple to become dominant in video downloads the same way it did with music downloads.
