    • This quasi-concept album (the only of its kind) from these Vermonters finally showcased their ability to convey a message with a studio album, whereas previously they only succeeded in doing so live.

Vodafone Italia Pre-pay Plan iPhone to Cost More

Vodafone Italia will be offering pre-pay, or pay as you go, plans for Apple’s iPhone 3G, but the combination iPod and smartphone will cost substantially more. Pre-pay customers will have to shell out €499, or about US$768.99, for the 8GB model, instead of $199.

The 16GB iPhone 3G will have an inflated price for Italian pre-pay customers as well. Instead of Apple’s "world wide" $299 price point, they will pay €569, or about $877.29.

Customers with regular contracts, however, will be able to buy an iPhone 3G for substantially less. According to Vodafone Italia, "By choosing a contract price plan, such as iPhone Vodafone Facile, it will be possible, for example, to have an Apple phone at a particularly attractive price."

Just exactly what that lower price is hasn’t been announced yet. Vodafone Italia is, however, stating that there will be "particularly simple price plans" and multiple data plans -- which will likely make the pricing plans a little less simple than Vodafone is implying.
