Vodafone May Get Another Crack at iPhone
Thursday, September 20th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Vodafone may have missed out on the opportunity to sell Apples iPhone, but that could change some time in the next 12 months. CEO Arun Sarin said his company will "absolutely" have another chance to work out a deal, according to Bloomberg.
Mr. Sarin added that his company is looking forward to seeing an updated and faster iPhone from Apple.
Vodafone had been negotiating with Apple to offer the iPhone in the U.K., but pulled out apparently over a disagreement about sharing revenue with the Cupertino-based company. Apple later announced that it struck a deal with O2, and the iPhone is now scheduled to go on sale in the U.K. on November 9.
T-Mobile scored the iPhone contract in Germany, and Orange landed a deal for France.
