What to Do If iPhone Sync Fails
Sunday, August 26th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by John Martellaro
Apple has updated a support document on Monday, #306113, that describes what to do if an iPhone fails to sync. The problem may be related to contacts or special characters used in calendar event titles.
Apple suggests that if a sync with the iPhone fails when syncing, first trying syncing just contacts or just calendars. If the issue is related to a calendar, empty event titles or some characters in event titles, such as high ASCII or Unicode characters, could be the culprit.
The tech note described the procedure to step through to isolate the offending characters in contacts or calendars and defines the legitimate characters that can be used for event titles.
