Yahoo Expands Mobile Services

Leading up to the release of Apple’s iPhone, Yahoo plans to introduce a faster version of its Yahoo Go Internet service offerings for mobile devices later this week. The company also intends to expand its mobile services into Canada, Asia, and Europe, according to CNN Money.

The enhanced version of Yahoo Go will allow users to download Yahoo Mail, organize email in folders, and read email attachments. It will also support Web searches that provide data that is locally relevant, zoom in on maps with current local traffic conditions, and look up phone numbers in a user’s Yahoo Address Book.

Apple will include Yahoo search support as well as support for Yahoo Mail on the iPhone. The company has not, however, stated what type of support for the enhanced Yahoo Go the iPhone will offer.
