Apple, AT&T Mobility Face Two Additional Lawsuits Regarding iPhone 3G Network Speed, Other Claims

Following up on a trend, Apple and AT&T Mobility are facing two new lawsuits claiming that the speed and infrastructure of AT&T's 3G network is insufficient.
Per a Macworld UK article, the lawsuits were filed in the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida and in the United States District Court Eastern District of Texas Sherman Division this week.
Supplementing the oft-cited claim of insufficient bandwidth of the 3G networks, the lawsuits both state that the iPhone 3G hardware itself has had “well-known and documented issues regarding the premature ‘wear-and-tear’ of the iPhones’ housing, including the formation of hairline cracks in the iPhones’ casing.” The suits claim such a situation violates statutory and common law, including consumer protection statutes, negligent misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, and breaches of express and implied warranties and make no less than eight claims against the companies including Breach of Express Warranty, Breach of Implied Warranty of Fitness of Purpose, Unjust Enrichment, Negligent Misrepresentation, Intentional Misrepresentation, and Breach of Contract.
Exact damages and amounts concerning expected compensation have yet to be released.
