Apple Press Releases Change iPhone Nomenclature to “iPhone 3GS”

Apple has changed the nomenclature for its iPhone line from "iPhone 3G S" to "iPhone 3GS," at least in its press releases. While the iPhone's Web site still refers to iPhone 3G S, the press release the company issued Monday morning used the more concise naming scheme.
Perhaps more importantly, the company retroactively changed the press release that initially announced the new device to read iPhone 3GS. Until today, that press release had read "iPhone 3G S."
iPodObserver.com has asked if these changes represent Apple's official nomenclature going forward, and will update this article when the company responds.
