Bento Comes to the iPhone

FileMaker announced the immediate availability of Bento for the iPhone and iPod touch on Tuesday. Bento is FileMaker's personal database application, and like the desktop version for Mac OS X, it includes several database templates to help users organize their data.

Bento for the iPhone includes templates for time tracking, expenses, inventory, event planning, contacts, to do lists, and includes a blank template so users can build customized databases. It also integrates with other iPhone applications so users can initiate phone calls, view Web sites, send email messages and display Google maps from the application.

The iPhone version of Bento can synchronize data via wirelessly with Bento for the Mac. Synchronizing some fields requires Bento 2.0v4 for the Mac, which is available as a free update at the FileMaker Web site.

Bento for the iPhone and iPod touch is priced at US$4.99 and is available at Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
