Freeverse released its latest iPhone and iPod touch game, a racing title created in collaboration with Paramount Digital Entertainment and based on the movie Days of Thunder, on Thursday. Players take the role of Cole Trickle as they use their iPhone's accelerometer to race through six circuits and win the Days of Thunder Cup.
Features include a "Drop the Hammer" power-up that gives a speed boost and invincibility, AI racers who are ruthless on the track, slow-motion crashes, and strategic pit stops where players can refuel and repair their cars. There are 39 races in all, and players can unlock new tracks as they progress through Story mode. As players take out opponents, they add those cars to their garage; there are 14 unique vehicles to collect.
Pricing is US$0.99 for 72 hours. After that, Days of Thunder will sell for $4.99. iPhone software 2.2 is required.
