Freeverse’s Flick Fishing is First Paid App to One Million Downloads

Freeverse has announced that its Flick Fishing game is the first paid iPhone app to reach one million downloads, with ten percent of those playing the game in iPhone OS 3.0 buying additional content, including a new location and new fish, through the in-app purchasing feature. Players use the iPhone's accelerometer to mimic a casting motion, with their bait choice and fishing skill helping them land big fish.
The latest version of the iPhone OS also allows Flick Fishing players to compete in fishing contests known as Fish Jack, which is similar to blackjack. The game's new fishing location is a private tropical island, while the new fish available for purchase are grouper, striped bass, and barracuda. Flick Fishing sells for US$0.99.
