    • Gimme Fiction by Spoon is a terrific album by an Austin band that I was lucky enough to catch on an Austin radio station during a Christmas visit.

    • This record is perhaps U2's finest hour, yet it has been forgotten as a strange by-product of the ZooTV tour's overload, and is generally regarded by most fans as a poor effort. It is this sentiment t

iPhone 3G Almost Completely Unavailable in the US

Demand for Apple’s iPhone 3G is outstripping supply in the United States, leaving the combination iPod and smartphone unavailable in all but three of the company’s retail locations. As of Monday morning iPhone hopefuls can still pick up a handheld at the Apple Stores in Salem and Ann Arbor, but only if they want the 16GB white model, and the Pasadena store still has the black 16GB model in stock.

The list of sold out stores has been growing ever since the iPhone 3G July 11 launch despite headaches that slowed down the activation process and in some cases prevented Apple from selling the handheld device. Those issues appear to have been worked out within the first couple of days since the launch event.

Like the original iPhone launch from just over a year ago, Apple stores were greeted with long lines that formed hours or days in advance.

Within only four days, the iPhone 3G was already unavailable in 21 states.

Apple sold over a million iPhone 3G units during its initial weekend, and the rollout has been called the biggest consumer electronics launch in history. The handheld was released in over 20 countries, and will be available in about 70 by the end of the year.
