Apple will provide developers with information about how to develop native software for the iPhone at a special event on March 6th, according to Reuters on Wednesday. The company also said that new iPhone features will be unveiled that will be aimed at business use and make the phone more competitive with the RIM BlackBerry.
In an invitation sent to reporters, Apple said it will provide a software development roadmap in a meeting at its Cupertino headquarters at 10 AM on March 6th in Building #4s Town Hall. This means that the long-awaited Software Development Kit (SDK) will be put in the hands of developers soon.
"Apple has understood the importance of local applications and they are responding to that, and it will help them sell more iPhones," said Tim Bajarin, principal analyst of Creative Strategies. "It should release a plethora of creative applications and it will make the iPhone much more practical as a mobile applications tool," he added.
