New Zealands retailers are facing an iPod nano shortage this holiday season, which has led Creative representatives in the country to say that they expect their MP3 players to take advantage of the shortfall. Kiwi retailers receive their shipments from Australia, which is facing the same supply problems. Kate Palmer reported on the situation for New Zealand Reseller News; The iPod Observer obtained the link through a post on Mac Daily News.
Ms. Palmer quoted Renaissance Apple general manager Steve Ford as saying: "The queue is getting longer and longer so the message to consumers is buy now and dont delay." He told her that his company is stocked with 30GB and 60GB iPods but "is desperately trying to fulfill demand for the iPod nano."
Meanwhile, Creative marketing manager Nick Angelucci told Ms. Palmer that his company expects this Christmas shopping season to be its biggest yet. "Creatives microdrive players are doing extremely well and thats in direct competition with Apples new models," he said.
