- Goldfrapp
On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.
- Amon Tobin

- Spoon
Gimme Fiction by Spoon is a terrific album by an Austin band that I was lucky enough to catch on an Austin radio station during a Christmas visit.

iTunes Festival: 51 Bands Throughout July, Live in the UK
Tuesday, June 12th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
Apple Inc. has quietly, at least in the U.S., launched iTunes Festival, a music festival to take place throughout July in the Institute of Contemporary Arts in The Mall in London, England. The Festival will feature some 51 bands throughout July, with the bands all being available on iTunes. Every performance will be recorded and made available on iTunes, at least in the UK.
The event kicks off on July 1st with Mika, continue on the 2nd with Crowded House, offer Travis on the 3rd, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club on the 4th. While the iTunes Festival Web site said that the event takes place over 31 consecutive nights, there are a few holes in the months calendar. Several days have multiple performers.
Tickets to the event are being given away through the iTunes Festival Web site. To win tickets to a particular day, click on the "Win Tickets" link next to whichever performance you wish to see.
