iTunes: More Info About What’s on Your iPod

iTunes offers all kinds of information about what’s stored on your iPod or iPhone, like how much space the music, videos, photos and other data is using. iTunes isn’t limited to just showing you how much of your iPod is loaded with your favorite stuff -- it can also show you how many items are on your iPod, along with how much time it will take to play your music and videos.

iTunes can show how much storage space is being used...

To see additional information about the content on your iPod or iPhone, do this:

  • Launch iTunes.
  • Connect your iPod or iTunes to your computer’s USB port.
  • Select your player in Devices section in the iTunes media list.

  • ...the number of items...
  • Make sure the Summary tab is selected.
  • Click the Capacity thermometer to rotate through showing storage space used, the number of items on your iPod, and how long it will take to play your music and videos.

...and how long it will take to play the music and videos on your iPod.

You can also click Software Version to see your iPod or iPhone’s software build number, click Serial Number to see your iPhone’s Identifier number, or click Phone Number to see your iPhone’s IMEI and ICCID numbers.
