iTunes Music Sales Top 200 Million in Europe

Apple announced on Wednesday that music sales at the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) in Europe climbed over 200 million in two years. Eddie Cue, Apple's vice president of iTunes commented "The number of songs downloaded and purchased from the iTunes Music Stores in Europe have tripled in the past year from 50 million to 200 million."
The iTMS in Europe now also includes over 3 million songs from major music labels, and over 1,000 independent labels.
Apple first launched its European version of the iTMS in June 2004 in France, Germany and the U.K. Since then, it has expanded into 17 European countries, including Austria, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, and Sweden.
