iTunes and iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store Purchases
Sunday, September 30th, 2007 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
Now that Apple has released the iPhone 1.1.1 update with support for the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store, its not just iPod touch owners that can buy songs on the go. Regardless of which device you choose, your songs all end up in the same place once you sync with your computer.

The iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store is Apples version of the iTunes Store just for iPhone and iPod touch users. The wireless version of the store is available any time you have access to a Wi-Fi network with Internet access. Just tap the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store icon on you iPhone or iPod touch, hunt for the music you want, and buy-buy-buy.

The next time you connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, all of those purchases will load into iTunes. You can find them in the Purchased playlist, and you will also have a new playlist that breaks out your Wi-Fi Music Store purchases. The new playlist is called "Purchased on" and included the name of your device. In my case, thats Purchased on Jeff Gamets iPhone.

Sure, it might seem a bit redundant to have to Purchased playlists, but it does make it easy to keep track what you bought from the iTunes Store, and which purchases were made through the Wi-Fi Music Store. It also makes it easy to backup or burn a CD of your Wi-Fi Music Store purchases since they are all grouped together.
