iPhone Game Roundup: LeapFrog Number Rumble, Online Contests in Flick Fishing [UPDATED]

LeapFrog has released its Number Rumble math game on the App Store, while Freeverse announced plans to update its Flick Fishing iPhone game with support for online fishing contests. Number Rumble (US$2.99) is aimed at six- to ten-year-olds; it features quizzes, challenges against friends, and more. Kids shake their iPhone or iPod touch to select answers or generate questions.

Meanwhile, Freeverse said that Flick Fishing 1.3 will add Fish Net, a multiplayer network where players can share news of their biggest catches. Players will be able to hold fishing tournaments and will receive the latest news the next time they open the game. Freeverse also said it has plans for future updates that include competitive tournaments with time limits and rule variations.

A Freeverse representative told iPodObserver.com: "The 1.3 update to Flick Fishing with Fish Net has already been submitted [to the App Store for approval]." The update's notification system is similar to the push technology coming in iPhone software 3.0, although it won't require the new version of the iPhone OS, which is slated for release this summer.

Just to clear it up the Flick Fishing item.  This isn’t a iPhone OS 3.0 update.  This update has been submitted to Apple and will be out really soon.
