iPhone Guided Tour Guy Leaves Apple for Venture Capital Firm
Friday, June 26th, 2009 at 4:41 PM - by Bryan Chaffin
![]() Bob Borchers |
Apple's iPhone Guided Tour narrator, Bob Borchers, has left his position as a marketing executive and joined venture capital firm Opus Capital. According to the company, Mr. Borchers will be focused on making investments in mobile applications and service, as well as, "as adjacent opportunities in both hardware and software."
Mr. Borchers has served at Apple as Sr. Director of Worldwide Product Marketing for the iPhone. He became known to the public for his role as narrator of Apple's iPhone and iPhone 3G Guided Tour videos. Apple currently offers only the iPhone 3GS Guided Tour, which is narrated by "Nelson," an employee at one of Apple's retail stores, but YouTube version of Bob Borchers' Guided Tours can be found on YouTube.
Mr. Borchers and his Guided Tours have also been the subject of numerous parodies (many involving porn themes, so viewer beware), as noted by Silicon Valley Insider, which first reported Mr. Borchers' change of jobs.
