iPhone OS, Now on Your Mac
Monday, June 15th, 2009 at 8:50 AM - by Jeff Gamet
The Swedish video production company DRMFLD has apparently been working to push the iPhone OS envelope by hacking the operating system to install and run on a MacPro, complete with functioning touchscreen interface. The company even posted a video of a Mac running iPhone OS on YouTube to help back up its claims.

iPhone OS on a Mac
The video seems to show a multitouch-aware desktop display responding to finger taps and swipes along with auto-rotating images when the monitor is pivoted between portrait and landscape views. Some taps, however, apparently require an Apple Remote instead of regular finger taps.
Since the footage comes from a video production company that's capable of creating elaborate special effects, there is a chance that this is an elaborate hoax. Despite the possibility that the video has been enhanced, it shows that at least some of the iPhone's interface features scale up well, which makes the idea of an iPod super touch even more exciting.
