    • This quasi-concept album (the only of its kind) from these Vermonters finally showcased their ability to convey a message with a studio album, whereas previously they only succeeded in doing so live.

iPhone Top Seller in Japan

Apple's iPhone 3GS is the top selling smartphone in Japan, according to a BCN survey. The combination iPod and smartphone currently holds the top two slots in the country, beating out competitors like the Sharp Aquos Shot SH-061 and Panazonic's 830P.

As of Monday, the 32GB iPhone 3GS held the top selling spot, and the 16GB model was following in second place. The 8GB iPhone 3G, however, was the top ranked phone in BCN's survey leading into the weekend, according to TG Daily, followed by the 16GB iPhone 3G.

In comparison, BCN's survey ranked the popular Blackberry Bold as the sixth most popular seller.

iPhone sales have topped a million in the country since the handheld went on sale about a year ago. The iPhone's features are a big part of consumer interest in the handheld, but Softbank's lower service price plans are playing an important role, too.

The iPhone 3GS was released on June 19 in several countries around the world. Like the iPhone and iPhone 3G launches, customers lined up early for the chance to be among the first to buy the handheld.

But, but I thought all the Apple haters said the iPhone was failing miserably in Japan. Ohnoes!
