Jiyuka 1.0 Ikebana Simulator Released

Software developer Wonfgang Steiner announced the release of Jiyuka, the company's audiovisual application for the iPhone and iPod touch on Friday. "Jiyuka," which means "free flower," is a modern form of Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement and allows users to create compositions of randomly generated flowers with complementing generative soundscapes.

The program uses unique combinations of petal shapes and colors yielding an unlimited multitude of designs. Favorite flowers can then be saved in a palette or be combined into new ones by mixing them together. Users can also change the flower sizes, stack and layer them into arrangements and choose a matching background color shade from the wheel of colors. Completed arrangements can be saved in high quality to the photo library of the iPhone or iPod touch.

Jiyuka is available now for $3.99 from the App Store and requires iPhone OS 2.0 or later to install and run.
