MacTalk Gets iPhone Rumor Takedown Notice
Monday, June 8th, 2009 at 9:46 AM - by Jeff Gamet
MacTalk is running one fewer iPhone rumor stories thanks to a cease and desist letter. The now missing post claimed that Vodafone Australia listed Apple's 16GB iPhone as a discontinued product, which many are taking as a confirmation that new iPhone models will be announced during the World Wide Developer Conference on Monday, according to Macworld.
Anthony Agius, MacTalk owner, commented "I can't say who the C&D is from, but if you go through the MacTalk blog, you might notice a missing post regarding an iPhone rumour."
While Mr. Agius doesn't say who the takedown request came from, which was most likely part of the takedown request. The lack of information, however, has left readers to speculate whether or not it was Apple issuing the request, or if the letter came from Vodafone Australia or its supplier, Brightpoint.
Apple is expected to introduce new iPhone models along with iPhone Software 3.0 during its keynote presentation at WWDC in San Francisco. The event is scheduled to kick off at 10AM pacific time, and TMO will be on site with live coverage.
