Microsoft Reveals More Windows Marketplace for Mobile Details

Microsoft on Wednesday spoke more about the Windows Marketplace for Mobile that will be available later this year when Windows Mobile 6.5 phones begin shipping. According to The Washington Post, Microsoft will mimic the 70/30 split on revenues, in line with the percentages offered by Apple, Google, and Nokia, with the ability to give away applications or price them for as low as US$0.99.
However, developers will need to pay a $99 annual registration fee, which allows them to submit up to five applications, with each additional piece of software costing $99. Microsoft said it will provide testing and marketing support as part of that fee. The company also noted that it will not support subscription purchases.
