New iPods May Include Camera

A massive camera sensor order by Apple may be an indicator that the company is preparing to extend photo capabilities beyond the iPhone to the iPod touch and even some other iPod models, too.

According to TechCrunch, the camera sensor order is for the same type used in the iPhone, but the order size is far too large to be just for the combination iPod and smartphone. Instead, the cameras could be intended for a new iPod touch model, and even an updated iPod nano.

Any good iPod camera rumor needs a case to back it up, and Uxsight was more than happy to comply. MacRumors came across the company's listing for a garish silicone case for the "iPod Touch 3G," complete with cut-out for a camera lens. A case with a camera opening for the "iPod Nano 5" is listed at DealExtreme, too.

Whether or not Apple really is planning on adding cameras to the iPod touch and iPod nano is open to speculation since the company doesn't comment on unannounced products or rumors. The size of the camera order along with the appearance of new cases, however, does add support to the theory that Apple's camera options are about to move beyond the iPhone.

Well now having a camera in an iPod would put it even farther ahead of the competition.

Thank you lens for this good explanation.

What does a contact lens vendor have to do with an iPhone lens?  Particularly a website that is in Turkish? Spam perhaps?
