Orange Launches iPhone 3G in Jordan

Apple's iPhone 3G officially went on sale in Jordan on Friday as part of an exclusive deal with cell carrier Orange. Orange is offering both the 8GB and 16GB versions with its service packages, and like many other carriers, is imposing caps on monthly data usage.

Orange's iGold plan includes 500 talk minutes, 500MB of data, and 250 SMS messages and runs 29.99JD a month. The iPlatinum 1000 is priced at 49.99JD for 1000 talk minutes and 1000MB of data with 500 SMS messages. The iDiamond 2000 plan will set subscribers back 79.99JD a month for 2000 talk minutes, 2000MB of data, and 1000 SMS messages.

Orange is also offering an enterprise add-on bundle for 30JD that includes unlimited data and 1000 SMS messages a month.

The 8GB iPhone 3G is priced at 299JD with the iGold plan, 255JD on the iPlatinum plan, and 159JD with the iDiamond plan.

The iPhone 3G, however, still isn't available in Arabic, and the iTunes Store isn't available yet in Jordan, making it difficult for iPhone owners to add authorized applications to their combination iPod and smartphone.

[Thanks to SaudiMac for the heads up.]
