Paramount Lands Top Gun on the iPhone

Paramount's mobile gaming division has landed Top Gun (US$1.99) on the iPhone. Developed by computer, console, and mobile gaming veterans Freeverse, this flight combat sim puts players in the role of a new recruit taken under the wings of Maverick and Iceman and sent through a series of 10 missions that feature everything from city centers to canyons.

Players hop into the cockpit of an F-22 Raptor or a B-2 Spirit Stealth Bomber as they take on a new threat while trying to avoid the many danger zones comprised of incoming missiles and ground-based obstacles. Players earn medals, unlock new content, and discover Easter eggs as they complete missions. The movie's soundtrack, including the song "Danger Zone," accompanies the action.
