Pics Show New iPhone Compass, Autofocus, More
Monday, June 1st, 2009 at 9:17 AM - by Jeff Gamet
Rumors that the next iPhone will include a built-in digital compass and an auto-focus camera seem to be growing by the day, and a blog in China did its part to help over the weekend by publishing pictures that it claimed show off both features.
The photos show the digital compass interface, along with a digital camera auto-focus feature that lets users tap on their iPhone screen to select the focus point. The images also show a voice recording interface, MMS messaging, and an enhanced stock application.
The images along with the blog post have since disappeared without explanation which will likely add more fuel to the rumor mill fire.
Apple is expected to unveil new iPhone models at its World Wide Developers Conference next week in San Francisco. The event for Mac, iPod and iPhone developers kicks off on June 8 with a keynote presentation that will likely include new details about Mac OS X 10.6 and iPhone Software 3.0, both due out soon.
