- Modern Lovers
This timeless masterpiece is little known, but it has inspired almost as many bands as The Modern Lovers' own inspiration -- and only slightly better known -- The Velvet Underground & Nico.
- Spoon
Gimme Fiction by Spoon is a terrific album by an Austin band that I was lucky enough to catch on an Austin radio station during a Christmas visit.
- Belle & Sebastian
The Life Pursuit is a sort of Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. You get Belle & Sebastian's peanut butter (its wistful, often irresistible pop) dipped in a 'Have A Nice Day!' and glam 70s chocol

QuickPWN Jailbreaks iPhone OS 2.2.1
Friday, January 30th, 2009 at 11:07 AM - by Jeff Gamet
Apple's iPhone and iPod touch 2.2.1 update has been available for only a couple of days, and the QuickPWN has already released their jailbreak hack that lets users install third party apps that aren't available through the App Store.
The jailbreak hack currently requires a Windows PC with no word yet on when a Mac OS X version will be available. The QuickPWN team is calling its jailbreak tool "unofficial," although so far there aren't any reports of the hack causing problems. The group is warning, however, that iPhone 3G owners that have applied unlock hacks should avoid the upgrade for now because their phone will relock, limiting the device to the original carrier.
