Rock band KISS has teamed with software developer Spark of Blue to release KISS Virtual Concert Lighter, an iPhone app aimed at concertgoers who want to hold up their cell phone, rather than a traditional cigarette lighter, a trend that has become more prevalent during the past several years.

The app, which coincides with the band's 35th Anniversary world tour, features 24 KISS lighter cases, a scrolling text marquee, a flame that sways with the user's hand movement, and dynamic sound effects and music clips. Pricing is US$0.99.
Spark of Blue will be releasing Virtual Concert Lighter apps featuring other musical artists, including The Who, Poison, and Lil Wayne.
