Skype for iPhone Coming on Tuesday
Monday, March 30th, 2009 at 8:43 AM - by Jeff Gamet
Skype's official iPhone client will finally arrive on Tuesday, giving iPhone and second generation iPod touch owners a way to use at least some of the Internet-based communication company's services.
The iPhone Skype application will support Skype-to-Skype calls and instant messaging, along with SkypeOut, and should offer better audio quality than third-party Skype-compatible applications. It will, however, be limited to Wi-Fi connections, so users won't be able to take advantage of the service when they are away from wireless network connections.
Skype for the iPhone will be free and available at Apple's iTunes-based App Store.
[Thanks to CNET for the heads up.]
