Spaceweather announced Tuesday the release of Perseids 1.0, an app dedicated to assisting users to view the annual Perseids meteor shower, which takes place this year on August 11th and August 12th. The app offers news alerts relating to the shower, a sky map, directions on how to view the shower, and a live photo gallery of meteor photos from around the world.
The photo gallery will be supplied by Spaceweather's network of photographers, who will be uploading their images directly to a gallery viewable through the app.
