German software developer Synium Software announced the release of vCarder 1.0 for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch on Friday. The application allows users to select any numbers of contacts through the Address Book application and send them to contacts. The program fully supports the Unicode protocol for correct handling of foreign writing systems and can send information via e-mail or Bonjour.
Other features include:
*flexibly customize which information to send and which to suppress (addresses, phone numbers, personal details, etc.).
*Secure transmission over the user's well-known and trusted e-mail server.
*vCarder does not add to the dependency upon third-party services.
*Choice to send only vCards, or to attach them to individual, personalized e-mail messages.
vCarder is currently fully localized in U.S. English and German, retails for a $0.99 introductory price on the App Store (regularly $1.99) and requires iPhone OS 2.2 or later to install and run.
