T-Mobile Calls iPhone Talks “Speculation”

Following reports that T-Mobile and Orange are negotiating with Apple to sell the iPhone in the U.K. along side O2, T-Mobile has stepped forward calling the news "merely speculation," according to the Washington Post.
Reports that surfaced earlier this week claimed that T-Mobile was negotiating with Apple for a deal to carry the iPhone 3G in the U.K. while leaving the new iPhone 3GS in the hands of O2.
T-Mobile's claim that word of the talks is speculation could mean that there aren't any negotiations, or the company could be holding its cards close to its chest and working to keep the deal plans secret.
If, however, negotiations are underway U.K. iPhone shoppers will likely be pleased should T-Mobile land a deal since there will be more than once cell carrier to choose from -- and that could lead to better deals for consumers.
