  • So Jealous

    • 8 out of 10
    • Tegan and Sara
    • So Jealous is the third album from these sisters, and easily the one to single out for an introduction to their music. Some people may not get on board with their vocal styles, which are slightly

  • Album Of The Year

    • 10 out of 10
    • Brother Love
    • Killer grooves, catchy riffs, edgy vocals with oh-so-just-right layered harmonies, and a drive that will move even YOU out of your chair, Brother Love's initial release is what rock and roll should be
  • Trouble

    • 8 out of 10
    • Ray LaMontagne
    • At first, Ray LaMontagne might strike you as just another breathy-voiced knockoff of folk/rock guitarists like John Mayer and Jack Johnson. But he's actually got a better voice than either, he tell

  • Rift

    • 8 out of 10
    • Phish
    • This quasi-concept album (the only of its kind) from these Vermonters finally showcased their ability to convey a message with a studio album, whereas previously they only succeeded in doing so live.
  • Haunted

    • 10 out of 10
    • Poe
    • Dropping like a bomb on some of the blah musical offerings of her contemporaries, Haunted was one of the best albums of 2000, obliterating the competition.

Ostensibly a tie-in to her brot

Telstra Loses Secret Windows Mobile 6.5 Phone

Microsoft's tightly guarded Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system isn't supposed to be in the public's hands yet, but at least one non-Microsoftie is getting a sneak peek now that Telstra's CEO lost his prototype HTC phone that was running the yet-to-be-released OS. The phone was apparently snatched by a pickpocket in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress, according to BizTech.

Telstra boss, Sol Trujillo, lent the phone to another company executive who later realized it had been lifted from their pocket.

The theft could spell bad news for Microsoft if the thief notices the phone is running the unreleased operating system and hands finds a way to show off the software. Such a move could potentially reveal features Microsoft is trying to keep secret, or it could leave the company with egg on its face if showing off the smartphone reveals what's missing and how much work the OS still needs.

Microsoft, however, doesn't seem overly concerned about the loss. "Although we regret that the prototype given to Telstra was misplaced, we don't envisage the loss of one Windows Mobile 6.5 phone in Barcelona as impacting Microsoft in any way," a company spokesperson said.

For now it looks like Microsoft has bigger issues to deal with, like making sure Windows Mobile 6.5 can hold its own against Apple's iPhone -- and finding more secure pants for Telstra's executive team.

Picking someone’s pocket and getting a new windows OS.  That’s irrefutable proof that crime doesn’t pay.
