    • Beck is the modern master of the groove, and Guero is merely the latest example of this. From the opening power chords of "E-Pro," to the Pac-Man cuteness of "Girl," to the dirge-like lullab

Watchmen: Justice is Coming Arrives at App Store

Hot on the heels of the movie's $55.7 million opening weekend, the online multiplayer game Watchmen: Justice is Coming has landed at the App Store. Using developer Last Legion's cloudMMO technology, the game allows up to 1,000 players to simultaneously connect to the year 1975 in the Watchmen universe, where they can explore five areas of New York City, socializing with each other and fighting enemies.

Each Watchmen avatar features a unique look, complete with a costume, and comes with a customizable skill set. Crime is rampant in the city, thanks to the outlawing of superheroes, so players must rely on their wits to survive.

Watchmen: Justice is Coming currently sells for US$0.99, which publisher Warner Bros. Digital Distribution said is an introductory price; they didn't say when it will go up, nor how much it will cost when it does. There is no monthly fee to play, and Warner has said that it expects to release free content updates in the coming months. iPhone software 2.2 is required.

Meh.  NYC.  Why couldn’t it be Paris, or Berlin, or Tokyo, or Mexico City, or Sao Paolo.  Anywhere but NYC.

The movie and the comic book both take place in NYC, that’s why.

(Yes, I realize much of the GN and the movie don’t take place in NYC (Mars, for example, plays a prominent role), but NYC is still a major setting.)
