how to convert mod to wmv/avi/mp4/mov/mpg for Mac/Windows

Nowdays, more and more people use camcorder to record something happy, such as birthday party, wedding, graduation etc. While, maybe lots of you aren’t familiar with these tools, feeling frustrated about how to convert and import properly those .MOD video files. Now here, I give some little tips and hope it useful to all of you.

First, what’s Mod?

.Mod files are actually MPEG-2 files with AC3 audio, similar to a VOB file on a DVD or the M2T files used on Sony hard drive camcorders, this video file format is used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders.

Second, why and how we convert them to what we wanted video formats?

Because .Mod file is not supported by iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPhone, Apple TV, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen etc, so if you want to import MOD files from your camcorders to play on iPod, even burn to DVD to keep them, you have to convert them.
Here, I’ll share you with a useful tool to solve this problem.
Part one: For Mac users:

Aiseesoft Mod Converter for Mac can help you convert Panasonic/JVC/Cannon etc. Mod file to AVI, convert Mod to FLV, MPG, MP4, MOV, FLV, 3GP, etc., then you can enjoy edit them, enjoy them on your portable devices.

Now, follow the step-by-step guide and start the conversion.

Step 0: Download, install and run Aiseesoft Mod Converter for Mac
And after a while, you can see the following inferface:

Step 3: Click the “Start” button to start the conversion.

4. Merge into one file
If you want to merge several Mod/Tod videos into one file you can choose them and click the “Merge into one file” to do it

Step 0: Download, install and run Aiseesoft Mod Converter

Step 1: Click “Add File” button to add your video files
Step 2: Set output video format

Very, very interesting, especially the comparison to Android programming at the end.

My wife does not have an auxilary port in her car. She has been using the Iplay from monster cable, but is getting a lot of feedback no matter what station she uses. Any recommendations on another fm transmitter?

What are your favorite games for iPhone and iPod touch?

I’ve never been a big gamer. When I was a kid I had a NES and the original Game Boy, but was not in a hurry to spend $50 a pop on console games that may or may not hold my interest long-term.

Thanks to the iPhone I’m finding I actually buy games now. With lots of options at $5 and less (in addition to plenty of free options), I’m a lot more inclined to pick up a game here and there. And I actually play them—I would never buy and carry around a dedicated system like a PSP, but I’d play on my iPhone when there’s time to kill, since it just happens to be with me all the time.

What are your favorite games for iPhone and iPod touch? Both free and paid suggestions are welcome.

iTunesDJ problem

Hi there. I’m on a PowerBook G4 running OS/X 10.4.11 and the latest revision to iTunes 9. I’ve turned on iTunesDJ in my preferences. But, every time I click on the iTunes DJ item in the left side list, all I get is a title screen on the right side showing the “Always in control” and “Make a request” blurbs. There’s nothing else there resembling the drop-down ‘Playlist’ menu on the bottom like how Party Shuffle had it. I do not have an iPhone nor iPod Touch but, that shouldn’t matter, right?

What step am I missing?

“Listening” to video while browsing web or email

I often am happy to merely listen to the audio portion ofo a video podcast while doing something else on my iPhone. The only way I found to do this is to start the video, jump to the other task, and then restart the sound only portion of the video by pressing the ‘play’ button on the earphones.

Is there an easier way of doing this? Is there a way to do this if I don’t have my earphones with me? Tks

Has anyone purchased the TomTom app for the iPhone? I understand a kit is still forthcoming, but I’m interested in whether or not any of our members have purchased the apps and whether or not they find it useful for navigation.

For anyone with an iPhone or iPod Touch that has kids or children you may want to look at this app. SantaLive. This is an application that allows you to see Santa in a 3D animated series on your iPhone. Each day you see what he is doing at the North Pole. The animation is great and my kids love it. You can see a demo on their website iphonesanta.com or just search itunes or the app store for SantaLive.

iPod nano screen scratches

When the First nano came out there were problems with the screens getting scratched, so th 2G nano used the wrap-around metal to allow the screen to be indented and prevent scratches better.

Are the new Nano’s screens indented or using a harder plastic to prevent scratches? They almost look like they went back to the original design with a flush screen that could get scratched again.

iPhone 3GS missed August launch

Update: looks like many of the August 09 countries did not get the iPhone 3GS as well (India and others). My guess is Apple is saving the stock for the Chinese market

Does anyone know if the iPhone was known to cause “interferences” with other mobile devices? According to an employee at the iPhone provider in Saudi Arabia, Mobily, the iPhone 3G (released in late Feb 2009) antenna was interfering with other phones. They said that Apple didn’t fix it with the 3GS so they can’t release it.
Did anyone else heard of something similar? Did any other carrier say anything about the iPhone antenna causing interference?

Another employee claimed that Mobily didn’t meet expected sales (their own fault, they are hurting the iPhone 3G with their ignorance).

What’s really weird is all of the countries listed here

got their iPhone 3GS in August. Only exceptions are: Saudi Arabia (Mobily), UAE (Etisalat) and Jordan (Orange). I am trying the feedback form, but, does anyone have any idea on why are these countries missing?

Thanks
