In-Depth Review

CarryMe (case for iPod Video)

The CarryMe case by Case-Mate is a simple leather pouch for your iPod Video. Mine is pebbled black leather on the front and smooth white leather on the back, secured by a bright red elastic band as shown here:

As you can see, it's a simple case. Your iPod Video slides in and out of the top of the case and is held in place securely by an elastic band (red in the picture above).

I'm not sure if you can tell from the picture, but the silver clasp ring has a spring clip that works like a carabiner, so it's easy to snap it onto almost anything -- a strap, belt, belt loop, or whatever -- and unlikely to detach unless and until you mean to detach it.

Its simplicity has both good and bad points. If you are the kind of user who frequently removes your iPod from its case to charge, sync, or fiddle with, this is a case that will serve you well. The same feature is its downside, too. You must slide your iPod out of the case to do just about everything except listen to it.

Finally, the quality of the materials is excellent and the price seems quite reasonable for a fine leather case.

One last thing... The CarryMe case is also available in burnt orange and white with a blue elastic band as shown here:

The Bottom Line

I prefer a case that offers more protection and lets me operate my iPod without removing it, so this case didn't work for me. But if you are looking for something simple and stylish, and don't mind sliding your iPod Video in and out of the case every time you wish to use it, it could be just right for you.

Just The Facts
