In-Depth Review

Marware Sport Grip Case for iPhone 3G

There are a number of good reasons to consider Marware's Sport Grip silicone case to protect your iPhone 3G, but there is also at least one good reason you might find it unsuitable.

Sport Grip is available in three colors -- black, white, or pink -- and fits your iPhone like a glove.

All features and ports are easy to use without removing your iPhone from the case and the silicone material, while feeling substantial and durable, is at the same time thin enough to permit you to use your phone with many devices that have iPod docks. And, although the Volume and Sleep/Wake buttons are covered, their use is not affected in the least.

Another nice touch is that this case includes a clear plastic film that protects the entire front of your iPhone as well as a handy little microfiber cleaning cloth.

The silicone material has a nice velvety feel. It's nice and "grippy" so it won't easily slip out of your hand. That's both a blessing and a curse. The curse is that even though the material feels great to the touch, it's also somewhat tacky, which causes it to attract lint and paper. And that tackiness can make it more difficult to slide in and out of your pocket.

The Bottom Line

If you don't mind cleaning your case occasionally to remove the lint it attracts, this is an excellent, well-made, and reasonably priced silicone jacket for your iPhone 3G.

Just The Facts

Pros:Silicone has velvety, non-slip feel, includes screen protection and microfiber cleaning cloth, reasonable price.

Cons:Attracts more lint than some silicone cases.
