Aussies Complaining About iPod Problems

The Australian Consumers Association (ACA) is getting an increasing number of complaints from owners of Apple iPods who have been reporting problems ranging from cracked screens to poor sound reproduction, The Sydney Morning Herald reported Sunday.

"Skipping songs, random pauses and newly charged batteries that run down in minutes are just some of the complaints being reported by purchasers of the iPod," the paper reported. "There are also complaints that the device's body overheats after only minutes of use and, in some extreme cases, devices worn by joggers have malfunctioned through sweat seeping into the device."

ACA spokeswoman Georgina Swan said there had been a marked increase in the number of complaints about iPods in the past six months, but the paper gave no specific numbers. An Apple spokesman in the country said many of the complaints were unfounded becomes they stem from abuse by consumers.

you need better proof reading.

"...were unfounded becomes they stem from mis-abuse by consumers."

I should read as becomes = because and mis-abuse = misuse

But if they had better proof readers, you'd have no reason to post!

I think I understand the root of the sweat complaint. With the neopryne armband, if you wear it attached to your upper arm with the iPod between your arm and the side of your body, this could be a problem. So will chaffing as the iPod brushes the side of your chest as your arm moves back and forth. To reduce the possibility of both the malfunction and chaffing problems, I would strongly suggest wearing the iPod facing outward.

I think the main problem is that the hard drives spin the opposite way, so their music always plays backwards.

I have the IPOD MINI...it is the worst product I've ever purchased, yes I use it in the gym, that is what I bought it for. If this product shouldn't be used in the gym Apple should not be market it for active people...besides I don't sweat on it! I put it in the treadmill cup holder protected by a wash cloth. It runs out of juice before I do, and I'm a 47 year old woman with a bad knee! If I had to do it all over again I would never have bought it. I plan to avoid ALL apple products!

i don't know what to do. My brother and i both have ipods, but whenever i want to download a song on mine it downloads on his visa versa. Plus if I ever delete one of his songs on my ipod it deletes it on his. I definetely don't want any of his songs on mine and he feels the same way about his ipod. Should I create a new library for mine or what?

One way is to create a playlist for your iPod and a separate playlist for his, then set the individual iPods to sync to the respective playlists.

Works like a charm. I do this with three different iPods.

3 ipods must mean you don't have confidence in iPods (or maybe you don't understand playlists - Apple makes playlists complicated).
