Altec Lansing Debuts inMotion iM5 Mobile Dock With Speakers for iPod
Wednesday, September 28th, 2005 at 3:40 PM - by Staff
Altec Lansing on Wednesday introduced the inMotion iM5, a mobile audio dock for the iPod that's the size of a pencil box, according to the company. The US$149.95 device runs off AC power or batteries and works with any iPod with a dock connector. Its speakers feature four full-range micro drivers as well as MaxxBass technology that eliminates the need for a subwoofer, although one can be connected if desired.
The inMotion iM5 also includes a composite video output jack for connecting a color iPod to a TV or supported projector. An auxiliary input port enables connecting other devices, such as iPods without dock connectors, CD players and more. A headphone jack is included. The system charges an iPod when running on AC power.
The inMotion iM5 mobile dock comes with a carry bag and includes an international plug set for the power supply and a 3.5mm stereo cable. It's compatible with all 3G and 4G iPods, iPod mini, iPod photo and iPod nano.
